Q. Should I Buy or Hire a costume?
A: Thats easy! Hiring costumes is perfect for when you want to stand out from the crowd. It might be your party or there may be great best dressed prizes on offer. You are much more likely to look spectacular in a custom made or one of a kind costume that you can hire for a fraction of the price of buying one or getting one made. Also, if you want everything included, ie wig, footwear, jewelery and accessories, hiring is certainly cheaper than buying all of those pieces individually. On the other hand, If you just want a simple costume that will only be worn once or twice, buying your costume might be the more ecconomical way to go.

Q: I know you sell costumes too. Can I try on a Retail costume before I buy it?
A: Yes! You are welcome to try our retail costumes on for size. We have a large range of costumes for sale in store. You can make use of our themed changerooms to make sure the costume will fit before you buy it.
Q: How much does it cost to hire a costume?
A: Our general adult costume hire rate is from $66-$88 + $50 bond.
Childrens sizes up to size 12 are $27.50 - $33 hire + $50 bond. Teenagers and Bigger Children are priced between $37.50 hire - $66.00 depending on size and the complexity of the costume.
These prices includes all fancy dress accessories like wig, gloves, glasses, jewellery and footwear.
We do have a few costumes that are more expensive. These are our mascot range of costumes. They are $99 hire +$100 bond. Also our suits of armour are $150 hire + $200 bond.
Prices for seasonal costumes like Santa and the Easter Bunny are $99 per 24 hrs during the Easter and Christmas period respectively.
We charge a higher bond if you cant get to the store to pick up your costume. This is refunded once the costume is returned to us in good order and within the time frame.
Q: When do I get my bond back?
A: Your bond is refunded when the costume is returnedin good order and on time. If you paid electronically, the amount is credited back onto your card immediately.
Q. How long is the hire period?
A: The usual hire period is up to 6 days. It can be longer or shorter depending on your requirements. If you live interstate, we book a longer hire period to allow for postal returns.
Q. I need the costume for a school Play, How long can I keep it?
A: We are Flexible with longer term costume rental. We can organise a reasonable weekly rate if you require it for a long period of time.
Q. Can I hire just part of a costume?
A: Yes! Everything can be hired separately and are priced accordingly. E.g. Wigs start from $22, Boots $16.50, Glasses $5.50 etc.
Q. Can I get a discount if I hire more than one costume?
A: Yes! We offer a 15% discount for 5 or more costumes. So get your friends along to hire as well!
Q. Do you offer student / Pensioner Discounts?
A: Yes! We offer 10% discount on presentation of a student or Pensioner card.
Q. Can you email me a photo of a costume that I like?
A. Yes! Our website can do exactly that. Just click on the costume that interests you and then click the button to email a friend. You can then send the image to yourself or someone else who may like it.
Q: How much notice do you need to book a costume?
A: With our sophisticated hire management system, you can reserve a costume weeks, months or years in advance! ( Some Santa costumes are booked in January for the following Christmas!) If you have left it till the day of the party, don't worry. You are not alone! On Fridays and Saturdays our costume store is bustling with last minute costume hires.
Q: Can I hold a costume?
A: Yes! We can hold costumes for a short period until you confirm the booking.
Q: Do I have to clean the costume?
A: No! We prefer to do all of the cleaning. We are experts at removing dirt, make-up, blood and other bodily fluids! ( mmm.. Best not to mention those here!) You can check our costume hygiene policy here.
Q. My costume might get damaged or lost. What happens then?
A: We may retain some of the bond to cover the repair cost of a costume. If the costume has been lost or irreparably damaged, there will be a replacement fee. The bond may not be sufficient to cover this.
Q. Do you cater for all sizes?
A.Yes! We have costumes up to XXXL for Women and Men. Petites also have a great range to choose from.
Q. Do you have costumes for children?
A. Yes! We are well known for our amazing range of kids costumes. We have fancy dress costumes for newborns, toddlers, Pre-schoolers and Primary school students. These can be hired or bought. Perfect for the costume box at home.
Q: I can't get to your store. Can I still hire from you?
A: Yes! We send costumes all over Australia. They are usually sent by Australia Post or a courier company. A bond of $200 is usually charged and of course this is refunded when the costume is returned in good order and on time.
Q: Can you do custom made to order costumes?
A: Yes! We often help our customers by making a costume specifically for them. We then hire it to you for a fraction of the price that it would cost to buy. We usually do this if we don't have exactly what you are looking for or if you are the first to request a new (or old) movie character etc.
Q: I know which costume I want. What do I do next?
A: Please call the shop during store hours (see below) to pay a holding deposit over the phone. This can be done on a credit card.
OR
Come in to try on the costume and book it. You pay the hire fee + a bond -$50 for most costumes, $100 for our Mascot and collectors range of costumes.
If it is for this weekend you will be able to take the costume with you. There is no extra charge for the extra few days.
Or
If you live too far away or would like the costume sent to you, Please call the shop to pay for the bond, hire and shipping fee and we will organise the rest.
Please note: If we send a hire costume by courier/post there will be a minimum $200 bond payable per costume. This is a security measure as we do not get to sight your photo ID. You will receive this amount back when the costume is returned to us.
